Our Story

Mission Kitchen BBQ sauce was originally conceived in the Dominican Republic at the Solid Rock Mission guesthouse in San Juan de la Maguana. One sultry afternoon during hurricane season we had a hankering for barbecue. Living in a Third World country, by definition, limits the ingredients one has to work with, so we made do with what we found in our mission’s kitchen…and Mission Kitchen BBQ sauce was born. Since then, we have moved back to Pettisville, Ohio – the center of farming country - where all the best ingredients are readily available. We continue to prepare our bbq sauce in small batches for family and friends, the same way we have since the beginning

In order to give Mission Kitchen BBQ a simple uncomplicated look consistent to what you will find in the bottle and in the lifestyle of the Dominican Republic, we have chosen a simple uncomplicated label. Mission Kitchen Ltd looks strikingly different because it is strikingly different on several levels.

Mission Kitchen Ltd is a local business with a global conscience. Our personal lives affect, both positively and negatively, those of others across the globe. Mission Kitchen Ltd is dedicated to empowering the population San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican Republic. A portion of all proceeds will return there to benefit the shoeshine boys and undernourished children who live on those streets and call that place home.

Mission Kitchen BBQ is sweet and spicy, yet mild enough for the more sensitive palates.
